The band

Some Are Lonely is Ola Clarström and Lars Frisk, a Stockholm-based duo with roots in Dalarna and Hälsingland. Their music is often melancholic and cinematic, somewhere between the records they have collected over the years: singer-songwriter, indie, electronica and folk, with traces of americana and jazz.

Ola and Lars met in Söderhamn in the mid-1990s and formed Some Are Lonely in 2013. Ola has written music for TV commercials and remixed artists such as Cotton Ferox and Space Age Baby Jane, and Lars has played in jazz, pop, rock and R&B bands.

Their debut album, This Is What Remains, came out in 2017. In early 2025 they signed to I/O Music and released the EP As I Was Waiting, and a new album is in the works. Live, the duo often grows with a bass player and guests.
